Thursday, October 27th, 2011
One of the most expensive aspects of travelling is the cost of your meals. Eating out for 3 meals a day plus snacks can wind up costing more than your motel in Melbourne.
If you want to save money and do your own cooking while on holidays make a booking for our Standard or Superior Studio Apartments or our Standard or Superior 1 Bedroom Apartments. They both have kitchenettes in the rooms. There is a shopping center with a Coles and Woolworths 2 blocks away from the motel.
If you want to eat out but don’t want to pay an arm and a leg for your meals, we have come across a website that gives you discounts on your bill or free food or drinks. The website is www.yumtable.com All you do is go to the website and enter your location and it shows you last minute deals on restaurants and cafes in the area you’ve chosen. It also shows you how far away the eatery is and also the type of food and price range for their meals.
Yumtable has apps for your iphone and android which really makes thing easy and lets you decide where to eat even when you are already out and about in Melbourne.

Melbourne Street Art

Thursday, August 25th, 2011

The City of Melbourne is one of the world’s best cities for street art. Throughout Melbourne there are many different murals and stencil art pieces scattered on various buildings in the CBD and inner city area.

The City of Melbourne has strict rules about what is and isn’t acceptable ‘art’. Unwanted graffiti and tagging is not acceptable and is removed. Murals or artistic pieces that are done with permission on buildings are kept and promoted and street art changes on a regular basis.

Street art is now going from the streets into art galleries in Melbourne. The National Gallery of Australia is holding an exhibition of street art in October 2011. http://nga.gov.au/Exhibition/SPACEINVADERS/

Melbourne has many international and interstate guests who come to see Melbourne’s creative street art. Some of Melbourne’s best street art can be found on 21 Degraves St, Cnr Flinders Lane and Cocker Alley, 122 Palmerston St Carlton and Union Lane off Bourke St Mall.

Melbourne Street Art Tours do guided walking tours of Melbourne’s street art through Melbourne’s lanes and alleyways. These tours are ever changing and always different. The tours are led by famous local street artists. For more detailed information go to http://www.melbournestreettours.com/
