Hotel Finder by Google

Thursday, August 18th, 2011

Google has developed a new search tool which will make it easier for finding hotels in the United States as well as flight options and prices.

This is an experimental search tool in which users define the location in which they wish to stay and from there they can search and find hotels based on star rating, price and user reviews. When looking at the map view users are given a free form parallelogram which they can place around the areas they want to stay in and avoid areas they don’t want to be near. Users can then create a shortlist before making their final decision. Hotel finder allows users to see if they are getting cheap deals on the property by comparing various prices. The user can then book directly with the hotel or through different third party websites. Hotel Finder also finds popular tourist attractions and points of interest in the area. There are lots of large, easy to see pictures with each property’s listing.

It will be interesting to see if Google introduces this to other countries if this experiment goes well.
