Melbourne in February

Planning a trip to Melbourne in February? Well there are a lot of things to do in Melbourne at that time. Melbourne is still busy but it is a more relaxed time in Melbourne.

The Zoo Twilights Music Sessions are in full swing. Entry for the Twilights is from the main Zoo gates anytime after 5.30pm every Saturday and Sunday night from the 16th of January until the 14th of March. The Melbourne International Boat and Lifestyle Festival is on from the 5th until the 7th of February at the NewQuay and Waterfront Precincts of the Docklands area in Melbourne. The Good Vibrations Festival is being held at The Nursery at the Flemington Racecourse on Sunday the 21st of February. Ticket prices start from $139 per person for regular tickets or $199 for VIP tickets. There is a great list of performers scheduled to perform this year. Australian Open 2010

Melbourne is in the midst of tennis fever as the 2010 Australian Open is in full swing as Day 2 gets underway. All the seeded superstars are here as well as some of the lesser known and unseeded players.

Children’s Activities in Melbourne during January

There are lots of things happening in Melbourne over January during the school holiday period. There are the usual things to see and do for kids that include going to the Aquarium, the Melbourne Museum, IMAX cinema, Science works Museum and Melbourne Zoo.

Some alternatives to the usual things are going to the City Library, going to the Docklands to see the Mr Sandman sculpture displays and workshops; Active Zone sports workshops in Royal Park, Acrobatics and Fairy Antics at Cooks Cottage and learning about Melbourne’s wetlands guided by a Melbourne Park Ranger.

DFO (Direct Factory Outlet) Shopping in Melbourne

If you are looking for great shopping in Melbourne then make sure you don’t miss going to DFO.

The first and original DFO in Melbourne is located in Cheltenham at the corner of Grange Rd and Center Dandenong Rd in Moorabin. It is approximately 45 minute drive from Brunswick.

The second DFO in Melbourne is located in Essendon at 100 Bulla Rd Strathmore. It is approximately a 15 minute drive from Brunswick.

The third and newest DFO in Melbourne is in South Wharf and is located at 20 Convention Center Place in South Wharf. It is approximately 10 minute drive from Brunswick. DFO South Wharf opened in October 2009 and replaced the DFO in Spencer St in Melbourne City.
